Our staff reserves the right to enforce rules, policies, and penalties at their discretion. Non-compliance may result in a warning, and more serious offenses can lead to a ban.
The use of derogatory or harassing language, including but not limited to racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, threats of violence, or any form of hate speech, is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal from the community.
Cheating, whether through external tools, in-game exploits, or internal services, is not tolerated. Our server employs detection systems for these activities, and any attempts at cheating will be met with disciplinary action.
Attempts to violate server rules—whether successful or not—will also be subject to penalties.

Out Of Character Etiquette
Interactions with Staff
Respect towards all staff members is expected, even if you disagree with their decisions.
Staff members are volunteers dedicated to helping the community and enforcing server rules. Their decisions may not always align with your preferences or those of your friends, but they are made with the best interest of the server in mind.
If you believe an error has been made, you are welcome to submit an appeal, which will be reviewed by server management.
RP is RP
What happens in the game stays in the game. In-character (IC) interactions are not a reflection of you personally. While on the server, you are expected to remain in character at all times.
The guidelines below will help foster an enjoyable experience for everyone:
Separate IC from OOC: Always distinguish between in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC) interactions. In-game conflicts, disagreements, or negative events are part of the roleplay and should not affect your real-life relationships with other players.
Embrace Roleplay Challenges: Roleplay often includes challenges, conflicts, and setbacks. These elements are essential for creating dynamic and engaging stories. Instead of feeling frustrated, view them as opportunities for character growth and storytelling.
Maintain Good Sportsmanship: Approach roleplay with a spirit of good sportsmanship. Whether your character faces defeat, betrayal, or other difficulties, handle these situations gracefully and use them to enhance the overall experience for everyone.
Avoid Personal Vendettas: Don’t carry in-game conflicts or grudges into real life. In-game actions are part of the roleplay and should remain within that context. Keep your interactions with other players outside the game positive and unaffected by IC events.
Focus on Fun and Creativity: The primary goal of roleplaying is to have fun and be creative. Stay focused on enjoying the game and contributing to the collaborative storytelling.
Win Mentality: In our community, we discourage a win-at-all-costs mentality. Roleplay is about building immersive narratives and fostering character development, not achieving personal victories. While friendly competition can add excitement, it should not overshadow the collaborative nature of roleplay. Focus on contributing to the story and ensuring a positive experience for everyone.
Witch Hunts
“Witch hunting”, or calling out players in a public forum in a way that seeks support from the larger community, is strongly discouraged. This behavior can escalate situations, lead to hurt feelings, and may even affect innocent players. If you encounter an issue, please follow the Contacting Staff guidelines outlined above.
Witch hunts can also occur in-character, where players unfairly target or dislike another player regardless of the character they are portraying. This undermines the integrity of roleplay and disrupts the collaborative nature of the game. Avoid ganging up on players in this manner, and ensure IC interactions remain fair and story-driven.
In Character Etiquette
Basic Decency
In our world, no one is the “main character”; we all contribute to making each other’s roleplay experiences enjoyable. Even if you find a roleplay scenario less engaging or not to your liking, remember that the other player might be having their best RP moment. Every player is crafting their own unique story, and your participation plays a role in that.
Roleplay is a collaborative effort. Even if your character is in conflict with another, you’re both working together to create something meaningful and entertaining for everyone involved. This process requires both give and take, and sometimes it involves your character facing setbacks or ‘losing’ in a scenario. The goal is to create an immersive and enjoyable experience for the entire community.
Ineffective Roleplay
“Ineffective Roleplay” refers to a lack of meaningful effort to contribute to the ongoing roleplay experience. Our goal is for every interaction to either be enjoyable in the moment or to build toward a more engaging and immersive scenario.
Examples of Ineffective Roleplay are listed below:
- Pocket Wiping
- Not Roleplaying Injuries
- Antagonising groups to create petty conflict
- Behaving as a nuisance to LEO whilst they are in an active scene
- The misuse of “Scenes”
Employment
When employed at a player-owned business, you are required to be present at the business premises or actively performing tasks assigned by your employer. Receiving income from the business while not fulfilling these responsibilities is not permitted.
Business owners must actively roleplay their roles and maintain the operation of their businesses. If you are unable to manage your business effectively or lack a team to support its operations, the server may consider reallocating the business based on community needs.
Gross Roleplay (Tortune & Grotesque RP)
Players wishing to engage in torture or other mature or graphic roleplay must obtain out-of-character consent from all participants involved before the scene begins. Such roleplay should be conducted away from public or heavily populated areas, including jail cells and food halls.
Be aware that certain scenes may cause emotional distress to others. While some level of discomfort might be unavoidable, we are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful community for all players.
Suicide roleplay is strictly prohibited on the server. This includes any actions or storylines that could be interpreted as leading towards suicidal behavior.
Character Creation Guidelines
- Offensive or racially motivated names are strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.
- Comedic names are allowed, provided they remain realistic and reasonable within the context of the game world.
- The use of premade GTA PEDs is not permitted. All characters must be custom-created to fit within the server’s roleplay environment.
Metagaming
Metagaming is when a player uses or acts on information that their character doesn’t know, which can potentially disrupt or change the roleplay.
Information gained from a player’s stream will be punished – This will include player locations and actions.
Players are not allowed to be in Voice Chat while playing Let’s RP, as this could unintentionally lead to metagaming.
Players should avoid referencing their other characters, as those characters would not have met. Similarly, they should try not to mention another player’s other characters to that person.
Identifying a player by their voice is permitted only when supported by other evidence, such as their clothing, vehicles, or the group they are with.
Character Continuity
Character continuity requires that each character starts with a clean slate when joining the server. Even if you bring a character from a previous server, they should have no history or memories from that past server. This approach ensures a fresh and independent storytelling experience within Let’s RP. While your character is expected to have rich lore and established relationships, they should not reference past experiences from other servers.
This is inclusive of jobs, criminal roles & storylines.
Powergaming
Powergaming involves performing actions that are unrealistic or unfair, giving your character an advantage either in-game or out of character.
Examples of powergaming include:
Ignoring Consequences: Your character suddenly knows how to defuse a bomb without any prior experience or training, simply because it benefits you in the situation.
Overpowered Actions: Your character single-handedly defeats a group of enemies without considering their physical limitations or the abilities of the opponents.
When using the /me command, it should describe actions in a way that allows other players to respond appropriately.
Appropriate Use of /me: /me pulls out a map and starts examining it for a route. This action leaves room for other players to react, such as asking questions or interacting with the map.
Inappropriate Use of /me: /me Takes a hidden gun from the person. This gives no opportunity for other players to challenge or respond to the action.
The /me command should not be used simply for communication or to bypass game mechanics. Instead, it should be used to describe actions that can’t be conveyed through emotes or basic game functions.
Non-Roleplay / Fail RP
Non-Roleplay is actions that can be considered unrealistic or promote a low standard of roleplay.
Some examples that may be considered a breach of this rule are listed below.
- Using GTA mechanics to gain an advantage such as; wheeling motorcycles to gain a speed advantage.
- Not roleplaying the effects of being injured and/or tased.
- Climbing terrain in vehicles that are not appropriate such as a sports vehicle climbing Mount Chiliad to escape from a Police chase. (EMS may use any vehicle to rescue players but must try to be as realistic as possible.)
- Baiting Law Enforcement Officers into a situation that is not used as a distraction for a bigger scene.
- Purposely baiting criminal factions into situations that are not storyline-focused.
- Using the /carry command in unrealistic situations. An example of this would be, carrying an injured player whilst riding a motorcycle or if there are no spare seats in a car.
- Be mindful of your surroundings such as LEO Precincts & Gang headquarters.
- Being injured in hospital and once revived, immediately running from arresting officers.
Combat Logging
If you crash or disconnect during an active scenario, you must attempt to contact other players involved. If you do not know who plays the character, please reach out to the Let’s RP Staff team.
- When a player returns they should be given any opportunity held prior such as; a reasonable gap in a chase.
- Players are discouraged from instigating new scenarios if they are not sure if they have the time to complete or play through the scene.
- If you are involved in criminal or LEO roleplay you must wait 15 minutes after a scenario is completed to allow for any follow-up roleplay such as; being found after a Heist.
- You must not hide inside buildings or areas that are not accessible to other players such as; apartments or houses.
In the event an urgent matter does require an instant disconnect please make other players aware using the /OOC command.
Random/Vehicular Death Matching [RDM/VDM]
Deathmatching is the act of attacking another player (including using a vehicle as a weapon) with little or no In-Character motive. Interactions that lead to an attack should include reasonable escalation such as aggressive behaviour, player robbery, or making a report to Law Enforcement.
Some examples of Deathmatching are:
Jay Walker is roleplaying in the back of Weazel News with Mel Rose, with no prior interaction Sid Hunter shoots Mel Rose and runs away.
Jay Huxley is in active pursuit of a Lost MC member and sees another Lost MC Member walking to the apartments. Jay Huxley decides to run over the secondary Lost MC member.
Cinematic Roleplay Guidelines
Cinematic roleplay is a style of roleplaying in which players use dramatic, visually engaging, and narrative-driven techniques to enhance their in-game experiences. Aiming to emphasise storytelling and immersion – Think “Movie” or “TV Show”.
Below is a breakdown of what cinematic roleplay typically involves:
- Dramatic Presentation: Players aim to create scenes that feel like they are part of a movie or TV show. This includes using detailed descriptions, dramatic dialogue, and intense action sequences to make the roleplay more engaging.
- Visual and Emotional Impact: Players focus on making their roleplay visually and emotionally impactful, using vivid descriptions and emotive language to draw others into the scene and evoke strong reactions.
- Narrative Focus: The roleplay often centers around compelling narratives, character development, and plot twists, similar to a storyline in a film or TV show. Players might plan elaborate scenes or story arcs to create a more immersive experience.
- High-Quality Roleplay: Players strive for high-quality interactions, often putting extra effort into their roleplay to ensure it is memorable and captivating. This might involve detailed character backstories, intricate plots, and well-executed dialogue.
- Collaborative Storytelling: Cinematic roleplay frequently involves collaboration between players to build a rich and engaging story. This can include planning scenes together, coordinating actions, and contributing to a shared narrative.
Overall, cinematic roleplay enhances the traditional roleplaying experience by adding a layer of dramatic and visual flair, making the interactions more engaging and memorable.
Roleplay Etiquette
New Life Rule [NLR]
When your character is incapacitated and enters the “bleeding out” state, a timer will appear on the screen. If the timer expires, your character will pass out, and you’ll be given the option to respawn. At this stage, EMS staff may still be able to revive your character, allowing them to keep all their memories and full inventory.
If EMS does not respond within 30 minutes, you must respawn. Any information or actions from the scene leading to the incapacitation will be forgotten and cannot be used for any retaliatory actions.
Other characters revived by EMS may share details about the scene with your character, but this information could be accurate or false.
Additionally:
- You cannot return to the area where your character died or participate in the ongoing scene until the scene is over and an additional 15 minutes have passed.
- Government factions like LEO and EMS can resume their duties but cannot engage in the original scene.
Not Valuing Life [NVL]
In Let’s RP, while characters can take risks, they must show appropriate concern for their safety. Here’s how this applies:
Roleplaying Danger
Characters in direct danger should roleplay fear and comply with demands to protect their lives. For example, if multiple guns are aimed at a player and they are told to get on the ground with their hands up, they must comply.
Escape Attempts
Characters must not attempt to escape on foot or enter vehicles when directly threatened, unless:
- They are armed with a weapon of equal or greater capability.
- They are already inside a vehicle with the ignition on.
- If other players are distracted, the character in danger may take risks to preserve their life but must accept the consequences of their actions.
Stunt Jumps with Vehicles
Stunt jumps are allowed provided they are reasonable and are not likely to cause severe injury. The risk-to-reward ratio should be balanced; the potential benefits outweigh the risk of severe injury or death.
Examples:
- Appropriate: After a bank robbery, the getaway driver in a Kamacho makes a calculated off-road jump onto a motorway. The jump is planned, and the risk of injury is low compared to the benefit of escaping.
- Inappropriate: After a store robbery, players on motorbikes attempt an unrealistic jump from a parking lot’s top. The high risk of injury does not justify the potential reward and disrupts roleplay realism.
Car windows are not bulletproof
If a character is held up in a stationary vehicle, they should still roleplay fear and show concern for their safety.
Drawing Weapons
Players may draw a weapon when threatened unless they are outnumbered. This allows for self-defence but recognises that being outnumbered limits success and may lead to unrealistic outcomes or unfair advantages.
Heists
For the Heists listed below, a rule of 4 people applies to each Heist. This means only 4 criminals will be allowed to participate in the Heist activity and Law Enforcement will adopt a +1 mentality.
This includes anybody within a set building or area. Heists can be tense Roleplay and during the Heist scenario, Law Enforcement are not permitted to shoot first – Outside of the Heist, this rule does not apply to Law Enforcement. If required or available, Law Enforcement is permitted to breach a Heist to keep things from becoming stale for all players involved.
We allow for later interference from criminals not directly involved in the Heist, such as – confusion tactics or vehicle replacements.
House Robberies currently fall under the rule of 4. However, Spamming house robberies will be considered Win Mentality and is punishable as such.
For the Humane Labs & Pacific Bank heists the rule of 4 is not required for both Criminal and LEO factions. We encourage a well-worked plan from both parties and it is required that you communicate with the opposing party before carrying out either heist.
If you have any questions regarding Heists, please reach out to the team via Modmail.
Player vs Player Robbery
Players cannot force other players to withdraw or transfer money to them. You can rob any petty cash they have on them.
Locals are everywhere, and we expect players to use common sense when they conduct robberies against other players. Robbing someone in the open in a public space is going to have a lot of witnesses, both players, locals, and CCTV. Be creative in how you rob someone, ambush or lead them away to a secluded location to rob them.
Rule Appeals
Appeals Process
Arguing with staff is not permitted, if you feel you have received a sanction unfairly or incorrectly, or feel you have further details that could change the context of the ban, you may reach out via our Modmail bot in Discord, explaining the situation from your perspective. In this situation, the sanction will be reviewed by Server Management.
You may submit an appeal every 30 days, if your appeal is denied then you must wait.
If you insult or are aggressive towards staff you will be at risk of falling under the Harassment / Abuse sanction and could have additional sanctions applied to your case.
